A day of giving back & inspiration
On October 22, 2021, Insidesource’s Philanthropic committee, The Heart Inside, teamed up with Pacifica Beach Coalition to clean up Rockaway Beach, where we gathered to pick up trash on the beach, parking lots, and trails. We ended up with a total of 20 pounds of trash, 5 pounds of recyclable materials, and 374 cigarette butts.
Fun fact: The Pacifica Beach Coalition saves and sends all cigarette butts to Terracycle, a recycling program that breaks down the materials, re-using them to create recycled industrial products, such as plastic pallets and park benches, with the remaining tobacco recycled as compost.
Inspired by The Heart Inside’s Beach Clean-Up, we decided to look for ways to incorporate the thought behind this initiative into how we work at Insidesource. As we are amid a refresh of our San Carlos Showroom design, we found this to be the perfect opportunity to create a workplace experience that connects back to our philanthropic and sustainability initiatives.
